Newport RI Short-Term Rental Registrations List

Active Rhode Island DBR short-term rental registrations in Newport: rental address, registrant, expiry, registration date and mailing address.

Say you run a turnover-cleaning company in Newport and want to write to every registered short-term rental owner before the summer bookings start. Rhode Island makes hosts register with the Department of Business Regulation, so the list exists: 472 active registrations carried a Newport rental address on 2026-11-03. Getting it out of the DBR’s search is the hard part.

The manual way, and what it costs

The public search form on RI DBR licence search (Tyler)
RI DBR licence search (Tyler) — the official search. One record at a time.

The DBR’s public search does take a city. Pick Short-Term Rental, ACTIVE and Newport, and it returns cards, with no export button. It also misses most of the older registrations. On 2026-11-03 the city filter answered 261 Newport registrations across both statuses, exactly the ones whose card shows an address, while 472 active registrations have a Newport rental address on their own page. Finding the rest means opening registrations one by one. If you only need to check a few addresses you already have, the free search is fine for that: type the owner’s surname and open the card.

The faster way

Rhode Island Short-Term Rental Registry Bulk Export & Lookup does the same search once and hands back every row at once.

ACTIVE keeps lapsed registrations out of a mailing list, since their owners may no longer rent. city matches the town as each registrant wrote it, ignoring case, and maxResults of 1,000 sits above Newport’s 472 so nothing is cut off. This is also the example task published on the Store.

For a cleaner, the rental street is the address you would actually service, and the mailing address is where the owner reads post. In Newport, 138 of the 472 active registrations carry a mailing address, and 16 of those are outside Rhode Island, in 7 states from California to Florida. Those 16 owners get their post far from the rental they would hire you for.

What you’d do with it

Export the dataset to CSV and run a mail merge: send to the mailing address where there is one, and to the rental address otherwise. Sort by extras.registered to write first to the 28 Newport registrations made in the 90 days before 2026-11-03, the hosts most likely still to be looking for help. A run like this one costs 472 × $0.004, about $1.89.

Worth knowing

This is the state registry only. It does not cover Newport’s own short-term rental rules or the listings on Airbnb and Vrbo, and a rental that never registered is not in it. Mailing address, email and phone appear only where the registrant filed them, which in Newport means 138 mailing addresses and 28 emails for 472 rentals. 243 of the 472 are held by companies or organisations, so the name on the row is often an LLC or a trust rather than a person.

Run it yourself: How to run Rhode Island Short-Term Rental Registry Bulk Export & Lookup walks the whole thing step by step.

If the rental is a property you are buying or valuing rather than servicing, the Zillow and Redfin property scraper looks the home up by street address and returns its estimate, price and tax history.
