The newest Joe Rogan Experience transcripts with SRT subtitles

The 5 newest Joe Rogan Experience episodes that have a Spotify transcript: full text, timestamped lines and an SRT subtitle file for each.

Say you cut short clips from the Joe Rogan Experience for a commentary channel. Each episode runs close to three hours, you need the exact words to find the 40 seconds worth clipping, and every clip needs subtitles. On 2026-11-04 the five newest episodes with a transcript added up to 13.9 hours and 171,017 words.

The manual way, and what it costs

A Spotify podcast episode page as a signed-out visitor sees it
A Spotify episode page signed out: the description and a Log in button, no transcript.

Signed in, Spotify shows each Joe Rogan episode’s transcript in the app, and for skimming one episode that is free and good enough. It doesn’t export: there is no download button, and copying 30,000 words out of a scrolling panel isn’t practical. Speech-to-text tools do export, but they bill by the audio minute; at $3 per 1,000 minutes, a price on the Apify Store, these five episodes come to about $2.50 and you get a new machine transcription rather than Spotify’s.

The faster way

Spotify Podcast Transcript Scraper & Keyword Monitor does the same search once and hands back every row at once.

{
  "show": "https://open.spotify.com/show/4rOoJ6Egrf8K2IrywzwOMk",
  "maxEpisodes": 5,
  "subtitleFormat": "srt"
}

show is the podcast’s Spotify link. maxEpisodes: 5 reads the show newest first and keeps the first 5 episodes that have a transcript; on this run the 2 newest didn’t have one yet, so it reached back to #2570. subtitleFormat: "srt" adds an SRT file to every row next to the plain text and the timestamped lines.

What comes back

The run took 8 seconds. One of the five rows, shortened:

lines is where a clip starts. Search it for the sentence you remember and its start_ms is the in-point, which sync_level: SYLLABLE_SYNCED says is accurate to the word on all five of these episodes. subtitles is a whole-episode SRT of 250 to 340 KB per episode, with each caption ending where the next line starts.

What you’d do with it

Export the dataset as JSON, save each row’s subtitles as <episode_id>.srt, and load the file into your editor next to the episode’s video; trimming the clip trims the captions with it. Keep text in a folder or a notes app so a quote can be found with a text search. This run cost $0.10, $0.02 per episode, against about $2.50 for the same 13.9 hours at a per-minute speech-to-text price. Schedule it with onlyNew switched on and each new episode arrives on its own.

Worth knowing

These are Spotify’s machine transcripts, so there are no speaker names and some words are misheard, which matters for a quote you put on screen. A brand-new episode often has no transcript for some hours: on this run the 2 newest didn’t, and the actor skipped them. The SRT captions follow Spotify’s line breaks, so some run longer than a subtitle style guide would allow. The text is Spotify’s, and what you publish from it is yours to clear.
