How to run Nevada Contractor Directory & Leads Scraper (NSCB)

Step-by-step: the exact input, what each field does, and the rows that come back from NV NSCB.

You sell to contractors in Nevada and you want a call list for one county and one trade: every licensed electrician in Clark County, say, with a phone number and a street address. The Nevada State Contractors Board (NSCB) publishes exactly that through its free Contractor Listing Search, which filters by county and by 41 classification families. What it hands back is one long web page with no download button. Clark County with every classification was 7,427 licences on a single 20 MB page when we checked on 2026-10-06, and the whole state was 19,156 licences on a 52 MB page that took about five minutes to load. This actor runs the same search and returns the rows as a dataset you can export.

What you’ll need

Nothing but an Apify account. The actor talks to NV NSCB directly.

No API key, no proxy and no CAPTCHA. NSCB’s site at app.nvcontractorsboard.com answers plain requests, and the proxy setting ships switched off. You pay $0.002 per contractor returned, plus Apify’s own platform usage.

Step 1 — Open the actor

Open Nevada Contractor Directory & Leads Scraper (NSCB) on the Apify Store and press Try for free. The actor’s own page on this site lists its live health and pricing.

Step 2 — Fill in the input

Two fields decide the list. trade takes an NSCB code or a name: “C-2”, “C02”, “Electrical” and “electric” all resolve to C-2 Electrical, and “roofing” finds C-15 Roofing and Siding. The search works on NSCB’s 41 classification families, so a sub-class such as C-2D Low Voltage comes back inside a C-2 search rather than on its own. If you are unsure of a code, run once with listOptionsOnly switched on; it returns the 17 counties and 41 classifications for free. county accepts “Clark”, “washoe county” or “carson city”. Leave county empty to search all of Nevada, which is the only way to get most out-of-state licensees (see below); leave trade empty to get every classification in the county.

A working input:

{
  "county": "Clark",
  "trade": "C-2"
}

Step 3 — Run it

Press Start. Rows are pushed to the dataset as they’re found, so the run log fills in as it works.

The input above returned 855 contractors when we ran it on 2026-10-06, and the scraping itself took 7.1 seconds (timed outside Apify; a platform run adds container start-up on top). The log prints NSCB’s own count next to the parsed count, “NSCB reports 855, parsed 855”, so you can see nothing was dropped. Washoe County plumbing (C-1) is smaller: 173 contractors in 2.9 seconds. A statewide search with no classification is the slow one, at about five minutes for one 52 MB page. If a run returns nothing but county and classification names, the actor did not recognise one of your inputs and the log line says which; those option rows are free. If NSCB itself does not answer, you get one free row with a notice saying so, never an empty dataset that looks like “no contractors here”.

Step 4 — Read the output

Each run returns a labelled table, not raw JSON:

The output view — every field the actor returns, named and typed.

Every row looks like this — a real row from a real run:

Most people come for phone. In the Clark County electrical run, 847 of 855 rows had one and all 855 had a street address and ZIP. There is no email column, because NSCB’s Contractor Listing Search has no email field. Phones are passed through as NSCB prints them, so “(702) 433-7079” and “(775)742-8400” both occur; normalise them in your CRM if it cares. City is also NSCB’s own text, which means North Las Vegas shows up 44 times as “NORTH LAS VEGAS” and 9 times as “N LAS VEGAS”. monetary_limit is the per-job ceiling the board sets: 104 of the 855 electricians are “Unlimited” and 86 are capped at $10,000. Read classifications as what that search matched rather than the firm’s full licence, since NSCB may show only the classes inside the family you searched.

Step 5 — Export it

Open the Dataset tab and export to CSV, JSON, or Excel — or pull the same rows from the API, which is what you want if this is going to run on a schedule.

What it costs

$0.002 per contractor returned, plus Apify’s own platform usage. The Clark County electrical run above is 855 rows, so $1.71. The Washoe plumbing list is 173 rows, so $0.35. Discovery Mode, unrecognised inputs and notice rows cost nothing. A licence that matches two of your searches is returned and charged once.

Where the data comes from

This reads NV NSCB directly: its Contractor Listing Search, an ASP.NET form posted with the county and classification you chose, which answers with one unpaged results page.

NSCB's Contractor Listing Search: two dropdowns and a Search button, and no download.

Every night a canary runs this actor against that live source and checks that it still returns at least 40 Douglas County electricians, each with a phone, street address, ZIP and licence number — what “verified” means.

NSCB’s Contractor Listing Search lists active licences only, so every row says “Active” and expired or suspended firms are simply absent. The county filter is NSCB’s own, and it leaves out most out-of-state licensees: 31% of the statewide list has an out-of-state address, yet only 5 of the 855 Clark County electricians do. If you want those firms too, leave county empty. City, state and ZIP arrive in one text line on the results page, sometimes with an empty ZIP+4 stub like “89431-”, and the actor splits them into separate fields.

If you need the same county-and-trade list with email addresses, Arkansas publishes them and Arkansas Contractor Directory & Leads Scraper (ACLB) returns them. For California, use California Contractor Directory by Trade & County.
