Startups That Raised $1M+ Last Quarter (SEC Form D)

Every US startup that filed a Form D last quarter having raised $1M or more, with phone, address, executives, amount raised and industry.

Say you run outbound for a payroll and HR platform, and the pitch lands best in the weeks after a company closes a round, when it starts hiring. It is the first week of October, the sales team wants Monday’s sequence loaded, and the question is simple: which young US companies raised at least $1 million between July 1 and September 30, and who runs them?

The manual way, and what it costs

The SEC answers that question for free. EDGAR’s full-text search filters to Form D and shows each filing’s document, one company at a time; at 15,952 Form D filings in 2026 Q3 that is not a list you build by clicking. The better free route is the SEC’s quarterly Form D data set, a ZIP of tab-separated tables published about a month after the quarter closes (Q3 2026 was up by October 29). If you are comfortable joining tables in a spreadsheet or SQL, it is enough, and costs nothing.

Where it stops being reasonable is the cleanup. 10,487 of the quarter’s filings were investment funds and SPVs, 80% of all issuers tick “incorporated within five years” because every new real estate LLC does too, and a company that amended its filing appears twice. Getting from 15,952 rows to the companies you would actually call took us four filters and a dedupe by CIK.

The faster way

Recently Funded Companies Lookup & Leads Scraper (SEC Form D) does the same search once and hands back every row at once.

{
  "period": "last_quarter",
  "preset": "startups",
  "minAmountSold": 1000000,
  "maxResults": 1000
}

last_quarter is the July to September window. The Startups preset keeps corporations incorporated in the last five years in an operating industry, which drops funds, real estate and investing vehicles. minAmountSold of 1,000,000 keeps companies that have already sold $1M, not ones that only hope to. On 2026 Q3 that input returned 613 companies in 3.9 seconds: 314 in Other Technology, 49 in Biotechnology, and 137 based in California.

FieldExample valueMeaning
company_name, cik—The company as filed, and its SEC Central Index Key
phone404-999-0461Business phone from the filing (placeholders like 000-000-0000 are left empty)
street, street2, city, state, zip—Business address
related_persons[{"name": "Janakan Rajendran", "relationships": ["Executive Officer"], "street": "955 Crofters Pass", "city": "Alpharetta", "state": "GA", "zip": "30022"}]Executives, directors and promoters: name, role, title and address as filed
total_amount_sold1167339Amount raised so far in the offering
total_offering_amount, total_remaining—Amount offered and still to sell (empty when the offering is indefinite)

For the payroll pitch, related_persons is the column that matters: RunLoyal’s row names Janakan Rajendran as the executive officer, and the company phone sits next to it. investors_count (3 here) and total_amount_sold ($1,167,339) let you rank the list, and date_of_first_sale tells you the first sale closed on September 17.

What you’d do with it

Export the dataset as CSV, keep company_name, phone, city, state and the first executive’s name, and import it into the CRM as a new list sorted by total_amount_sold. At $0.003 a company the 613 rows cost about $1.84, so a schedule that runs on the first Monday after each quarter’s data set lands keeps the list fresh for under $10 a year at this volume.

Worth knowing

Form D covers private offerings under Regulation D only; a company that raised without filing one is not in it. There is no email and no website on a Form D, and the industry is the SEC’s broad group (Other Technology covers most software), so “AI” or “marketing” can only be matched against the company name. The current quarter is read filing by filing at the SEC’s rate limit, so a long live period can take tens of minutes, while a closed quarter takes seconds.

Run it yourself: How to run Recently Funded Companies Lookup & Leads Scraper (SEC Form D) walks the whole thing step by step.
