Use case
Wyoming Electrical Contractors (DFPES)
Every Wyoming electrical contractor with an unexpired licence from the Department of Fire Prevention and Electrical Safety, with phone, street address, city and expiry.
Say you run an electrical supply counter in Casper and want to call every licensed electrical contractor in the Powder River Basin before the spring building season. Or you manage a commercial build in Cheyenne and need to confirm that each electrical sub on the bid list holds a current state licence. Wyoming licenses no general contractors, but it does license electrical contractors, through the Department of Fire Prevention and Electrical Safety, and its public lookup lists every one with a phone number.
The manual way, and what it costs
For checking a handful of subs, the free lookup is the right tool. Choose Contractors, type the
firm’s name or licence number, and read the expiration date off the result. Building the whole list
is another matter. The form will not search with every field empty, and it has no download. The
closest thing to “show me everyone” is a one-letter name search: on November 4, 2026 an e matched
1,940 of the 2,157 contractor records. That is expired licences, inspecting authorities and
low-voltage classes mixed in with the electrical contractors, a page at a time, to copy into a
spreadsheet by hand and then sort out.
The faster way
Wyoming Contractor License Lookup & Leads Scraper (DFPES) does the same search once and hands back every row at once.

categories keeps the Electrical Contractor licences and leaves out the limited and low-voltage
classes. expiry_statuses: Unexpired drops the lapsed ones, which the Department’s lookup keeps
listing: 578 electrical contractor licences had already expired on November 4, 2026. A maxResults
of 2,000 sits well above the 848 that remained, so the run returns all of them. For the Casper
counter, add a cities list (Casper, Gillette, Douglas, Glenrock); for the Cheyenne job,
switch to mode: lookup and put the subs’ licence numbers in queries.

| Field | Example value | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
name | 3 G Electric LLC | Business name as the Department lists it |
listing_id | C-47283 | Licence number exactly as printed (C-47283, LV-…, L-…); empty on about 10% of rows (224 of 2,136 on 2026-11-04), where the board lists none |
category | Electrical Contractor | Licence type in the board’s words: Electrical Contractor, or a limited (LM-) or low-voltage (LV-) contractor class |
phone | 208-313-7413 | Business phone as printed |
phone_e164 | +12083137413 | The same phone in +1XXXXXXXXXX form |
street | 4554 Clydes Turn | Street address (one line; the board publishes no state or ZIP) |
For the call list, phone closes the loop: every one of the 848 rows has one. Wyoming has a single
area code, 307, and 422 of the 848 phones carry it, so about half the licence holders are based out
of state; the example row is a firm in Tetonia, Idaho. Filtering on the city does most of the
sorting. Of the 51 rows in Gillette, 50 have a 307 phone; Casper has 41 of 42 and Cheyenne 35 of
38. For the bid list, match on listing_id and read extras.expires.
What you’d do with it
Load the rows into your CRM or dialler, keep the ones in your counties’ cities (or with a 307 phone), and work the list. Rerun the same input after July 1: 845 of the 848 licences expire on July 1, 2027, so comparing the two runs shows which firms renewed and which are new.
Worth knowing
The Department publishes a phone, one street-address line and a city: no state, ZIP or email. It
publishes no licence status either, so Unexpired and Expired come from the expiration date on the
day you run the actor. Licences renew each July 1, so a firm shown as Expired with a date of
2026-07-01 (116 electrical contractors on November 4, 2026) may simply not have renewed yet; check the
Department’s lookup or call before you strike it. Individual electricians’ licences are not
included, and the Department’s page says it is moving to a new eLicensing system, so the lookup may
change.
Run it yourself: How to run Wyoming Contractor License Lookup & Leads Scraper (DFPES) walks the whole thing step by step, including firm-name and licence-number lookups.
The same actor returns the limited and low-voltage contractor classes: drop categories, or pick
one of the board’s low-voltage classes (LV-G Contractor, LV-A Contractor, LV-C Contractor). To check contractor licences in several
states at once, the US contractor license lookup runs this
actor for Wyoming alongside the other states’ boards.
