Use case
Oklahoma Active Plumbing Contractors (CIB)
Every active Oklahoma plumbing contractor licence from the Construction Industries Board, with licence number, licence type and city.
Say you run a plumbing supply house in Tulsa and want to know how many licensed plumbing contractors the state has, where they are, and which of the names on your trade-account list still hold an active licence. The Construction Industries Board has the answer, but only as a search page, and the licences belong to people rather than firms, so your account list of company names will not match anything there as it stands.
The manual way, and what it costs
The free path works, and for a handful of names it is the right one: type a last name, press Submit, read the status. For the whole trade, choose Plumbing in the Trade box and leave everything else blank. On October 30, 2026 that returned 11,311 rows on a single page, journeymen and expired licences included, with no filter for status or licence class and no export button. Copying that page into a spreadsheet and filtering it yourself is possible once. It stops being reasonable when you need it again next quarter, or for electrical (22,122 rows) and mechanical (28,707) as well.
The faster way
Oklahoma Contractor License Lookup & List Scraper (CIB) does the same search once and hands back every row at once.
{

"status": "Active",
"maxResults": 2000
}
categories picks the board’s Plumbing trade, license_class keeps contractor licences and drops the
5,965 journeyman rows, and status keeps only Active ones. That leaves 1,692 licences, so a
maxResults of 2,000 returns the whole state in one run.

| Field | Example value | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
name | ALDER, ALEX A | Licence holder, as the board prints it: LAST, FIRST MIDDLE (always a person) |
listing_id | 00192177 | Licence number exactly as the board prints it, leading zeros included; not unique on its own |
extras.license_type | — | Licence type, e.g. Electrical Contractor License, Plumbing Journeyman License, Mechanical Apprentice Registration |
extras.license_class | — | Contractor, Journeyman, Apprentice or Inspector |
extras.status | — | Licence status: Active, Expired, Inactive, Pending - CE Hours, Tax, Withdrawn, Denied, Deceased, Completed |
extras.citation | — | Yes or No: whether the board shows a citation on the licence |
For the count and the map, city is the column you sort on: group the 1,692 rows by it and you have
contractors per town. For the account check, match on name in the board’s LAST, FIRST order, and keep
source_url, the board’s own page for that licence, as the record of what you checked.
What you’d do with it
Load the export into the sheet that holds your trade accounts and match each account’s owner or
qualifying plumber against name. Any account whose person is missing, or shows a status other than
Active, goes on a call list. Rerun the same input each quarter and diff the two files to see who
lapsed.
Worth knowing
The board publishes name and city only for these licences: there is no street address, phone or email, so this is a list for checking and counting, not a mailing list. Licences are held by people, not companies, and a licence number can belong to more than one person, so match on name and keep the licence page. Roofers are not in this trade search at all.
Run it yourself: How to run Oklahoma Contractor License Lookup & List Scraper (CIB) walks the whole thing step by step.
For roofers, with the phone and street address this board does not publish for trades, the Oklahoma roofing contractor directory is the one to run instead; the how-to guide also covers name and licence-number lookups when you only have a few names.
