Use case
Missouri Electrical Contractors (DPR)
Every active Missouri electrical contractor licence from the Division of Professional Registration, with employer, mailing address, county and expiry.
Say you sell electrical supplies out of Kansas City and want to mail every licensed electrical contractor in your half of Missouri before the spring building season, or you need to check that the electricians on a bid list hold a current state licence. Missouri has no statewide general contractor licence, but it does license electrical contractors, through the Division of Professional Registration, and it publishes every active one with a mailing address.
The manual way, and what it costs
For this one list, the free way is genuinely fine. Pick Electrical Contractors in the board menu,
press Submit, download the ZIP, and open the text file inside in a spreadsheet as tab-delimited. On
November 3, 2026 it held 1,230 licences. What you get is the raw file: column names like
prc_first_name and ba_cnty, no filter, and licensees from every state mixed together. Only 655 of
the 1,230 had a Missouri mailing address; the rest were out-of-state contractors licensed to work in
Missouri. Sorting that out once is ten minutes in a spreadsheet. Doing it every month, or for
engineers and architects as well, is where it stops being worth your time.
The faster way
Missouri Professional License Lookup & Leads Scraper (DPR) does the same search once and hands back every row at once.

categories picks the one licence type, and a maxResults of 2,000 is comfortably above the 1,230
licences it holds, so the run returns all of them. To keep only your sales territory, add a
counties list (Jackson, Clay, Platte, Cass). Most out-of-state rows carry no county, so the
filter drops nearly all of them, but not every one: 69 out-of-state addresses list their own county,
and Johnson County, Kansas would pass a Johnson filter. Check region reads Missouri before you
mail.

| Field | Example value | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
name | Justin A Garnett | Licence holder: a person’s full name, or the firm’s name for a corporation, establishment or business licence |
listing_id | 2019028878 | Licence number exactly as the Division prints it |
category | Electrical Contractor | Licence type in the Division’s words, e.g. Electrical Contractor, Professional Engineer, Pharmacist |
street | 5950 Old State Rd | Mailing street address (both address lines); empty for the Cosmetology & Barber board |
city | Imperial | Mailing city |
region | Missouri | Mailing state, spelled out (Missouri, Kansas, …) |
The licence belongs to a person, so for a mailing it is extras.employer that closes the loop: it
names the company the licence holder works for, and 827 of the 1,230 rows carry one. Mail the
company at the street address on the row, addressed to the licensed contractor by name. For the bid
list, match on listing_id and read extras.expires.
What you’d do with it
Import the rows into your CRM or mail-merge sheet, de-duplicate on extras.employer so a firm with
three licensed contractors gets one piece of mail, and print. Rerun the same input next month and
compare licence numbers to see who is new.
Worth knowing
The files carry active licences only, with a mailing address but no phone or email. An expired or lapsed licence is simply absent, so a contractor missing from the list may still be licensed under a different name spelling, or may have lapsed; check the Division’s own licensee search for that one name. The address is the one the contractor gave the board, which is sometimes a home or a PO box.
Run it yourself: How to run Missouri Professional License Lookup & Leads Scraper (DPR) walks the whole thing step by step, including name and licence-number lookups.
The same actor returns the Division’s other 169 licence types: engineers, architects, dentists, pharmacists, real estate brokers. To check electrical contractors in several states at once, the US contractor license lookup runs this actor for Missouri alongside the other states’ boards.
