Brooklyn NY Licensed Home Improvement Contractors with Phone Numbers

Active New York home improvement contractor licences in Brooklyn, with phone, street address, licence number and expiry.

Say you sell windows and siding to contractors, and your company has just opened a showroom in Sunset Park. Your manager wants a call list of every licensed home improvement contractor with a Brooklyn address by the end of the week, with phone numbers, so the two new reps can start dialling on Monday. Any contractor doing home improvement work in New York City needs a DCWP licence, so the licence rolls are the closest thing to a complete list. On 2026-10-27, 3,020 active licences had a Brooklyn address.

The manual way, and what it costs

NYC DCWP's licence dataset on NYC Open Data
DCWP's licence dataset on NYC Open Data. It filters and exports NYC's licences for free.

For NYC alone, the manual way is good. DCWP publishes its licences on NYC Open Data, and you can filter the dataset to Home Improvement Contractor, Active and city Brooklyn, then export a CSV for free. That gets you 2,862 rows. If that is your whole list, do it that way. What it misses is 158 firms with a Brooklyn address that hold a Nassau County or Westchester County licence instead (89 and 69 on 2026-10-27). Nassau’s report shows 15 vendors a page and Westchester’s map answers one ZIP code or city at a time, and neither exports in the NYC column layout, so adding them means a second and third pass and a merge.

The faster way

New York Contractor License Lookup & Leads Scraper does the same search once and hands back every row at once.

}

status: Active drops the expired NYC licences, 5,429 of them citywide on 2026-10-27. city: Brooklyn matches the address on the licence across all four rosters, so the Nassau and Westchester firms come along without you asking for them. maxResults: 500 is a cheap first look at $2.00; set it to 3,020 for the whole list at $12.08.

For the reps, phone_e164 is the column that matters: 2,936 of the 3,020 Brooklyn licences have one, already in +1 format for a dialler. Every one of the 3,020 has a street address, so the showroom can sort the list by postal_code and start with 11220 and the ZIP codes around it. extras.dba is worth keeping too. 462 firms trade under a name other than the one on the licence, and that is the name they answer the phone with.

What you’d do with it

Export the dataset as CSV, split it by postal_code between the two reps, and import it into the CRM with listing_id as the external ID where there is one. When the next refresh lands, the licence number lets you match rows back without creating duplicates.

Worth knowing

This is a licence list, not a contact database. No locality publishes email, so there is none in the data. NYC’s own dataset was last updated by the city on 2026-08-20, so a contractor licensed since then is not in it yet. Westchester and Nassau firms come without the NYC map coordinates unless Westchester geocoded the address. And the list covers licences, not activity: an active licence says a contractor may work in New York City, not that they are busy in Brooklyn this month.

Run it yourself: How to run New York Contractor License Lookup & Leads Scraper walks the whole thing step by step.

If your territory also crosses into New Jersey, New Jersey Contractor License Lookup returns New Jersey’s registered home improvement contractors the same way.
